- The regulation that governs how land is divided in Washington County. Any land being subdivided in rural Washington County must comply with the regulations of this ordinance.

- The Subdivision Coordinator is the person hired by Washington County to administer and enforce Washington County's subdivision ordinance.

- This ordinance was adopted on May 12, 2005.
Where do I start?
- I want to split my property into multiple pieces, where do I start?
- You should review our overview sheets which show the necessary steps for subdividing property. You may need to hire professionals to assist you.
- I want to build a new home, what permits do I need?
- You will need a permit for a certificate of zoning compliance
, a new well, a new or updated septic system and entrance onto a county road . Washington County does not require a building permit. If you are in or near a city, you should contact them to see if they require anything additional.

- Does Washington County have a flood plain map?
- Information provided by FEMA related to the flood plain in Washington County is available in paper map format and also on our GIS website. Currently, Washington County does not participate in the Flood Insurance Rate program.
